Decision-making. Leadership. Ministry.

The Council for Australian Catholic Women (CACW) was established by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference in December 2000 to promote the participation of women in the Catholic Church of Australia.

Who We Are
The Council for Australian Catholic Women exists at the “national level to ensure that the dignity of women is honoured and their gifts are given space to flourish for the sake of the Church’s life and mission”. (ACBC Social Justice Statement 2000).
What We Do
We work with the bishops of Australia to "make more space" for women especially in decision-making, leadership and ministry and to ensure that the rich variety of women’s voices are heard.
